The Gospel (Jargon-Free)

This is how some followers of Christ would summarize “The Gospel” in a way that’s free from any jargon that is only meaningful to people who’ve been going to church for years — here it is:

 

There is no way to repair the damage

that some of our words and actions have caused

apart from what Jesus did for us on the cross.

 

When we fully realize

how much we have hurt some people

we better understand

why Hell (as self-chosen) has to exist.

 

But here is the good news:

If we own up to that damage

and ask God to be merciful,

He forgives and restores.

 

If the Holy Spirit is asking you

to own up and believe,

just do it.

Say yes.
